Urea Production to Grow by More Than 50% in 2024, According to YPFB

Projections Urea production is expected to grow by 2024, from 347.3 thousand tons produced in 2023 to a projected 533.7 thousand tons. This represents an increase of more than 50% at the YPFB Ammonia and Urea Plant, according to information released by YPFB during the 2024 Initial Public Accounting.


“The expectation is that in 2024 the productive potential of the petrochemical complex will be better utilized, on average more than 85% (…). The plant is already in production and operating optimally, after the scheduled shutdown. This year we will break the record, exceeding 500 thousand tons of urea”, said Armin Dorgathen Tapia, president of the state-owned oil company, during his presentation at the event broadcast on social media.


At the beginning of the 2024 administration, with 69,190 tons, we know that we will once again exceed the target and approach a production of almost 70 thousand tons destined for the country's agricultural production”, stated the authority.
